Looks like Kristen Stewart is getting Bella Swan out of her system! In her upcoming film On the Road, Stewart, 21, indulges in some behavior that would make the Twilight heroine blush: like dancing provocatively in a club, rolling a joint and even riding topless in a car! Based on the semi-autobiographical 1957 book by Beat poet Jack Kerouac, On The Road follows the adventures of a writer named Sal Paradise (played in the film by Sam Riley) whose life is forever changed when he takes a road trip with the free-spirited Dean Moriarty (Garrett Hedlund). Stewart plays Marylou, the provocative 16-year-old girl for whom Moriarty leaves his wife (played by Hedlund's real-life love interest Kirsten Dunst). Although this will be the first movie adaptation of On the Road, the film has been in the works for decades. Kerouac himself wanted Marlon Brando to play the role of Dean; through the years, it became attached to such stars as Johnny Depp and Brad Pitt, before Hedlund was cast in 2010. "I'm so excited, I can't even tell you," Stewart said on Live with Regis and Kelly right before On the Road started shooting. "It was my first favorite book. I found this paper I wrote in the eighth grade -- not very smart, but you can tell that I loved it."
On the Road will hit theaters later this year.
