Robert De Niro is best known for his serious work in classics like Taxi Driver, The Godfather Part II, Goodfellas and Raging Bull. But this weekend fans saw a whole new side of the Oscar-winning actor!
De Niro, who's promoting his upcoming comedy Little Fockers, hosted Saturday Night Live for the third time and showed some serious range by dressing in drag for a skit.
The 67-year-old legend played the mother of a truly awful rapper named Blizzard Man (played by Andy Samberg). When she drops into a recording session being run by Diddy (who, in addition to his cameo in this sketch, was the show's musical guest), things get a little crazy.
Much to the horror of everyone else in the studio, Blizz's mom inexplicably catches the eye of Diddy. (Perhaps it was the hair? The breasts? Or the over-the-top gold jewelry?) And he's quick to vocalize his feeling for De Niro's character.
"Girl, you're the one that's hot fire," Diddy says. "If you weren't my man's mom, I'd tear that a** up!" Then, to top it off, the two start booty-bumping dancing.
We've got to give kudos to De Niro for going along with the sketch's ridiculous premise -- not to mention that get-up! But extra kudos go to all the other actors in the scene who didn't break the minute he walked through the door!
