WATCH: Ryan Lochte Talks About Partying With Prince Harry in Las Vegas

The Olympic heartthrob swears that he was not with the prince when he was caught with his pants down in Vegas and admits to be "kind of glad" about it

Shortly before Prince Harry was caught with his pants down in Las Vegas, he was partying with the world's other most eligible bachelor: Ryan Lochte! The Olympic swimmer appeared on the Today show on Thursday, where he described his royal encounter -- but insisted that he wasn't around when those scandalous photos were taken.

"I was not there. I promise," Lochte, 28, assured Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotbe during the second half of the show. (Watch the video below!)

The gold medal-winner did, however, meet Harry earlier in the evening, when the two attended the same Las Vegas pool party. Apparently, it was the prince who approached him... and challenged him to a swim race!

"His people came over to my table and said, 'Prince Harry wants to meet you.' I didn't know him at all," Lochte told Matt Lauer on the show. "I went over there. I was fully clothed, and and so was he, and he says, 'You want to do something? You want to race me in the pool?' I just took off my shirt, jumped in and we started racing."

You don't have to be a sports expert to know how this race was going to end. To his credit, Prince Harry was not a sore loser, and the Olympian even described him as "an actual pretty good swimmer."

"You know he’s part of the royal family and everything, but he’s really a nice guy," Lochte gushed. "He’s really talkative. He just wanted to meet me and honestly wanted to race me. I thought that was the coolest thing."

Watch the Matt Lauer interview, including race footage, below!

As for Harry's late-night Vegas party, Lochte insisted he wasn't invited and didn't know a thing about it. And while Olympic fans might be disappointed that it was Harry, not Ryan, whose naked bod was caught on camera, Ryan himself is relieved.

"I'm kind of happy (I wasn't there). I don’t need that," he told Lauer.
