During the Dec. 3 episode, SNL regular Vanessa Bayer once again plays Cyrus, as she hosts her own talk show with her ever-supportive dad Billy Ray Cyrus (Jason Sudeikis) on hand to play the guitar and pay his daughter endless compliments. But Billy Ray becomes a bit distressed after Miley references the Bob Marley birthday cake she had at her party and how she was recorded saying, "You know you smoke too much f**kin' weed when your friends get you a Bob Marley cake."
Then she begins to eat Doritos and giggle uncontrollably as she introduces her first guest. Jeff, an obvious stoner she "met at Burning Man" is played by the episode's host, Steve Buscemi. After her interview with him turns into a trippy psychedelic m video, a freaked out Billy Ray informs Miley that he's invited a special guest to talk about the "dangers of drug use," Whitney Houston (Maya Rudolph).
Acting like a supremely unhinged sobriety coach, Houston attempts to talks some sense into Cyrus. "I've been clean and sober since 2013," Houston deadpans. "Don't do drugs, please, don't do it! ... Now Miley Cyrus, you gotta promise me you're going to stay off that crack rock!"
When Houston realizes that Cyrus' drug of choice is marijuana, however, she begins a series of one-liners with: "What, that's it, just a little itty bitty weed? Weed's not a drug!" Then Houston proceeds to explain how she's on "medicinal marijuana" right at that moment.
"I put weed in my cereal this morning! I smoke weed just to go to Target!"
Obviously the SNL writers want to remind viewers that it could be much, much worse for Cyrus.
