When you’re pregnant, not eating often enough can make you feel sick. So eat whenever (and whatever, within reason) you can stomach. Although it’s good to try to eat something in the morning (hunger can turn into nausea), forget about scheduled meal times, snack when you’re hungry, and stick with what sounds appealing, says Robert E. Berry, Jr., MD, an ob/gyn at Women and Infants' Hospital of Rhode Island. “If ginger ale with cheese and crackers is all that will stay down for the first few weeks, your pregnancy will do fine until you can expand your diet,” he says.
