What you need: Medium or large-sized birdhouse; 3 strings of 100-bulb white lights; and a surge protector.

How to make it: Feed the strands through the openings in the backside of the birdhouse until it’s nearly full. Plug all the strands into the outlets of a surge protector. Place the birdhouse on a nightstand, dresser or mantle.
