For many kids, borrowing money is an abstract concept—they don’t actually see the funds changing hands—so teaching them to respect borrowing can be all about modeling your behavior and attitude. When you hand over the card or get home and unload the goods, have a chat about credit and your plans to pay it off. Better that they learn from you than through their own negative experiences later on.
