For weeks, everyone seemed to "know" that Mariah Carey was pregnant. Rumors were flying. She looked puffy. She wore A Pea in the Pod dress. Her husband, Nick Cannon was not so secretive, saying she had big news that she'd tell when she was ready. But Mariah stayed mum. Until now.
Most of us moms can relate. You probably had to make up an excuse at some point why you couldn't indulge in a glass of wine with your girlfriends or why you were late for work (um, my bus was late -- not puking in my toilet, I swear). And all the while, everyone probably knew exactly what was going on, but because you weren't talking, they weren't talking. We get it, Mariah.
Plus, Mariah says she went through a miscarriage two years ago, and that's enough to make any woman scared to announce a second pregnancy too early. There's the whole superstition thing. Plus, going through a miscarriage is heartbreaking enough, but to have to share the bad news with everyone you know (and, if you're a celeb, the world) is even worse. Announcing your pregnancy is both exciting and scary -- saying those words out loud makes all the changes that are about to happen in your life feel so much more real. We're glad the superstar singer finally felt confident enough to share her news -- go Mariah!
