Pregnancy Journal: Week thirteen: The midwife

All in all, I was very satisfied with our first visit to a midwife and have decided that assuming none of the three are adverse to ordering an epidural if I truly feel I need it, I would be happy to request a midwife delivery. One of the doctors is always at the hospital when the midwives are on call, so I feel confident that help is immediately available should there be a problem.

So, again, my mind has been eased. My baby’s heart sounds strong. Jacob is now more excited than ever (as are Rob and I). And, I feel more confident about having several delivery options. Fortunately, (aside from the fact that I haven’t gained a pound in four weeks, which they’re not worried about yet, my week-long fears about this appointment have been in vain and as the week closes I find myself able to sleep again.
