Pregnancy Journal:Week thirty five, It's so hard to wait!

Amazingly enough, after last week’s diaper cover find and this week’s stroller decision I’ve stopped having those pesky dreams. Unfortunately, the dreams have not stopped altogether. Now I’ve moved on from dreams of frustration to all-out nightmares. I seldom have dreams that scare me, but lately I’ve been having them nightly and they’re increasingly vivid.

Our plans for a relaxing night out were nearly foiled this week. The night before we were to go to my parents’ house I received a call saying that my brother was sick. He’s a senior in high school and lives with my parents. It turns out that he’d been home from school for several days with a high fever and the respiratory bug that’s been going around. He hadn’t told me that he was sick when we talked because he really wanted to see his nephew and assumed that he’d have time to recover before we arrived. Rob and I decided that we really shouldn’t expose Jacob or ourselves unnecessarily, so we postponed our plans and set out to accomplish some necessary errand running and house cleaning. However, on the way home it occurred to me that Jacob has four grandparents and they live ten minutes apart. Thus, my in-laws could theoretically watch Jacob while we went out. Taking into account the fact that we were supposed to be at their house for a special dinner the next night, it just seemed to make sense. Fortunately, Grandma and Papa were delighted to watch Jacob, so at the last minute we reinstated our plans, packed a quick bag and headed to their house for the weekend. By the time we arrived it was too late for dinner and a movie, but we were able to make a late show. So, we did. It was wonderful!
