Pregnancy Journal:Week thirty five, It's so hard to wait!

The following night we took in a basketball game at our old high school and an elaborate dinner prepared by my mother-in-law. All in all it turned out to be a great couple of days … until the following morning. It seems that Papa came down with the stomach flu that Grandma had experienced earlier in the week (unknown to us). As we drove home we decided to put it out of our minds and hoped that somehow it wouldn’t hit our house. This proved to be just wishful thinking. Jacob woke up vomiting the very next day and the four-day long bug then overtook the whole house, all week.

If we had to get sick, I am happy that it happened now, rather than later. I’ve always worried about going through labor while sick and even more so, bringing home a new baby to instant illness.

Amazingly, in the midst of feeling just awful, Rob and I had a simultaneous moment of reprieve and were able to finish installing the shelving in our newly completed garage closet! Although it didn’t settle my stomach, it did make me feel better to have finished a month long project. Now we’ll just have to put off the stocking of the shelves until we’re feeling better.
