The Box
Short Story:
In this 1970s-set thriller, Cameron Diaz's Norma is presented with a life-or-death decision: She and her family must choose whether to accept $1 million, knowing that someone they don't know will die in exchange.

What They're Saying:
"The pic reveals the hazards of taking Twilight Zone material too far and too seriously." -- Variety

"You can expect plenty of tense scenes, some chases and violent images, and other intense moments." -- Common Sense Media

Good for Kids?
Rated PG-13 for violence and disturbing scenes, this film's a little too scary for younger children and tweens.

Disney's A Christmas Carol
Short Story:
This 3D version of the classic Charles Dickens tale with Jim Carrey as Ebenezer Scrooge will get you in the holiday spirit -- even weeks before Thanksgiving.

What They're Saying:
"Disney's A Christmas Carol is a marvelous and touching yuletide toy of a movie, and the miracle is that it goes right back to the gilded Victorian spirit of those black-and-white films of yore." -- Entertainment Weekly

"The messages are all quite positive, as Ebenezer Scrooge's transformation is one of literature's ultimate stories of redemption and hope, even in the bleakest of times." -- Common Sense Media

Good for Kids?
Kids will love the animation, but the ghosts can be a little creepy. Best for ages 8 and up.

The Men Who Stare at Goats
Short Story:
George Clooney stars in this bizarre comedy as a member of a top-secret military sect whose deadliest weapons are his psychic powers.

What They're Saying:
"An absurd comedy that borders on genius." -- MovieWeb.com

"For a movie that searches constantly for a consistent feel, sometimes within the same scene, The Men Who Stare at Goats is remarkably entertaining." -- Arizona Republic

Good for Kids?
Rated R for adult language and brief nudity, Clooney's latest flick is for adults only.

The Fourth Kind
Short Story:
Something is definitely wrong in a small Alaskan town. After several people go missing, it appears a government conspiracy just might be to blame.

What They're Saying:
"A couple of modestly effective shocks lie in store, but none as frightening as the onscreen text informing us that some 11 million people claim to have seen a UFO." -- The Village Voice

"[Milla] Jovovich is good, actually. It's a broad melodramatic role with lots of screaming, and after two Resident Evil movies, she's good at being an endangered heroine, and makes a competent psychologist." -- RogerEbert.com

Good for Kids?
Rated PG-13 for violence and terror, this thriller is suited for older teens and adults.

In case you missed...

This Is It
Short Story:
This much-anticipated concert film is a final tribute to the late King of Pop.

What They're Saying:
"Death returned Michael Jackson’s humanity, and in a curious, tentative way so too does Michael Jackson’s This Is It." — New York Times

"Jackson's mystery deepens, even as it dissolves between our fingers." — Salon.com

Good for Kids?
MJ's suggestive dance moves and an especially creepy "Thriller" scene make it questionable for kids under 10.

The Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day
Short Story:
In this follow-up to the cult-classic 2000 crime flick, vigilante brothers return to Boston to launch a bloody crusade against evil.

What They're Saying:
"[Director Troy] Duffy is a smart filmmaker who knows what his mostly male fanbase will want to see in a sequel, while also wearing most of his obvious influences on his sleeve." — ComingSoon.net

"Boondock Saints II: All Saint’s Day is much more proud of its pseudo-religious self-righteousness and strained pub humor." — New York Press

Good for Kids?
Rated R for extreme violence and nudity, this one's just for the grownups.
