The Weight Loss Industry: The Bernie Madoff of Womens' Health & Happiness

The latest and greatest from the ever-fabulous Kim Brittingham:

“The weight loss industry is the Bernie Madoff of American womens' health and happiness.

We invest billions of dollars in it.

It promises a someday future pay-off of enviable bliss and status and security.

It doesn't deliver. And it knows it won't, from the start.

It lies, and takes our money with shameless glee.

Eventually it hits us -- we were suckers for having been scammed.

But we were so SURE it was legit. I mean, it was just so HUGE, how could we not have believed it would work? It looked so...well,respectable. And we weren't alone in it. So many other people were doing it. People whose opinions we trusted. Educated professionals. I mean, is it really possible for a group of people THAT BIG to be THAT GULLIBLE?

It's time to get smart.

It's time to find physical activity that gives us joy, and do it regularly.

Time to eat a sensible variety of foods, until we're satiated, then stop.

Time to judge our health by a new set of numbers. Not the ones on the scale, but the ones from our annual lab results. Cholesterol levels, for example. Blood sugar.

Time for a radical new way of thinking. Deciding to be happy NOW. The size, shape, and weight of our bodies has nothing to do with it -- not now, and it won't in the future. This, you can safely buy into.

It's what any savvy investor would do.”
