I like to do different things with baked chicken, and I already know some recipes, but when I'm experimenting, what is the best temperature and time for the chicken to bake in the oven without it overdrying it? --iVillager slojuly

Dear slojuly:
Baked chicken is a dish prepared with chicken parts. If you are talking about a whole chicken, the term roasting is often used instead of baking. Baking is the easiest technique for cooking chicken parts, produces excellent recipes and smells so good when cooking. Boneless, skinless chicken breasts have become a favorite way to prepare chicken, as it is healthier and can be bought easily.
There are a variety of sauces and seasonings used to bake chicken with a tasty result. Most chicken recipes say to bake the chicken pieces at 350 degrees for about an hour. If your recipe doesn't have a sauce you can the cover the chicken with foil to keep it from drying out. Chicken is great to experiment with and usually hard to mess up, which invites fun and creativity in the kitchen. Keep trying different recipes, but don't put too much pressure on yourself.
