Who has the best deals: Wal-Mart, Target or Kmart? It depends on what you’re looking for, say consumer savings experts. Target has better prices on cosmetics, but Wal-Mart offers better deals on electronics, experts say. To help you shop smarter, we asked the experts to tell us how they shop at all three stores.

No matter where you shop, remember to sign up for email newsletters from stores you visit most so you know when prices are at their lowest, says Regina Novickis, consumer savings expert for PromotionalCodes.com. And shopping online can earn you free add-on items, she says. For example, using a code from PromotionalCodes.com can get you $5 off a $50 purchase, plus free shipping at target.com. The same goes for Kmart -- PromotionalCodes.com offers $5 off a $45 purchase at kmart.com.

Kmart, Target and Wal-Mart all offer printable coupons online, which are also good in stores, says Karla Bowsher, a writer at moneytalksnews.com. She suggests bookmarking store coupon pages and checking them before each shopping trip.
