We asked you, and you told us! We posed the question to new moms on the iVillage boards: What do you wish somebody had told you about pregnancy? First-time moms-to-be, take note: Here's the inside story from women who've been there. Some of our favorite responses:
-- Exercise, exercise, exercise. You'll look and feel better -- and labor will be easier!
-- Stock up on diapers before baby arrives.
-- Stay away from sodium. That stuff will make you swell up like no other.
-- Make more of your pregnancy symptoms now and then, and enjoy letting your partner wait on you!
-- Enjoy this time in your life, especially if this is your first child. Pretty soon, your world will revolve around the baby.
-- Keep a diary.
-- Keep an open mind when preparing for labor and delivery. Even if you think you have decided on a natural birth, you might end up changing your mind or having to have a C-section.
-- It's called constipation -- and it's not pleasant!
-- Your tummy will take some time to go back into place. Remember this rule of thumb - "Go into the hospital nine months pregnant, come out seven months pregnant!"
-- Every pregnancy is different -- don't expect yours to be like anyone else's.
