Being a movie, the situations in this film are a bit extreme as far as paranormal activity goes. However, there are some aspects that do go along with very popular theories in our field. In the film, doors close on their own, pictures fall over and candles flicker -- common reports that we investigate in real life. Also in the film, the spirit of a woman seems to be trying to get a message across to Michelle Pfeiffer’s character. Again, while this is definitely glorified in the movie for Hollywood purposes, it’s not uncommon for us to investigate reports of a haunting centered around “unfinished business” or a traumatic experience.
