There Is No 'Normal' Path



There’s no doubt that losing someone or something you love can be extremely painful. But the process of grieving varies from person to person; there is no normal path for moving forward. “Grief is as unique as a fingerprint. We all grieve differently,” says David Kessler, grief expert and co-author of On Grief and Grieving: Finding the Meaning of Grief Through the Five Stages of Loss. Emotions can range widely, from sadness and fear to even relief. Experts stress that there is no right or wrong way to grieve, but many people do experience similar feelings and symptoms. Here are a few common ones.
