"Forty is the old age of youth; fifty the youth of old age."

Name: Wendy Bazilian, author and nutrition expert

Age: 39

Since I read this quote by Victor Hugo sometime in my 20s, I've hung onto it, always wondering that if this is true, what comes in between -- from 40 to 50? And now, I get to find out! I'm on the cusp of what I expect will be my greatest decade yet. I love that with the years -- with age -- I feel more connected with my community, with multiple generations, with human experience and relating to it. I can see clearer and am thrilled that my curiosity in the world has grown and not diminished. And, I love simple pleasures more than ever.
