Jon Stewart has interviewed everyone from celebrities and politicians to scholars and pundits on The Daily Show, and a fraction of those Q&As have seemed awkward or even borderline unpleasant. But there is one interviewee that stands out as Stewart's least favorite of all time.
So who this undesirable guest? Surprisingly, it's not an unpopular lawmaker; it's A-list actor Hugh Grant.
In a candid interview with his Comedy Central BFF and fellow "news" host Stephen Colbert at the Montclair Film Festival in New Jersey last week, Stewart claimed Grant was the worst person he'd ever had on the show.
"He's giving everyone s--t the whole time, and he's a big pain in the ass," Stewart, 50, recalled of Grant's appearance to promote the dismally reviewed comedy Did You Hear About the Morgans? in 2009, Third Beat Magazine reports. "And we've had dictators on the show."
Yes, that's right -- Stewart confirmed that the British rom-com specialist was nastier to have on the talk show than a dictator! Stewart explained to Colbert that Grant, 52, spent most of his time before the on-camera interview complaining that he had other places to be and whining about the clip from the movie that the studio had provided for the appearance.
According to Stewart, Grant angrily asked "What is that clip? It's a terrible clip."
"Well, then make a better f--king movie," Stewart said, adding he would "never" have Grant back on The Daily Show.
