Can you please tell me which fruits and vegetables are low in acid? Thanks,
Fruits typically considered low in acid include peaches, pears and apricots.
Most vegetables are considered low-acid, except tomatoes. Instead of limiting yourself too severely, I always suggest that people include as many different fruits and vegetables in their diet as possible. If certain fruits cause trouble such as mouth sores or stomach pain, then limit them for a month or two before you try to eat them again. Often the reaction of a food is also bundled with our stress, illness, medications and the amount of a particular food that we eat. For example, one person can eat an orange or tangerine each day, but if she tries to drink orange juice she develops mouth sores.
Unless you have a specific condition that prohibits the use of fruits and vegetables high in acid, there is no need to limit your intake of produce. Check with your physician before you make any dietary changes.
