While most homes will give out chocolate and candy corn on Halloween, rumor has it the White House is gifting treats of fresh fruit and raisins.
First Lady Michelle Obama is working hard on her mission to promote healthy nutrition and fight against childhood obesity, and that includes October 31 -- but President Obama playfully joked about the conscientious selection for trick-or-treaters during his recent appearance on The Tonight Show.
He said he told her, “You know, the White House is going to get egged if this keeps up,” as Leno and the audience laughed. “You need to throw some candy in there, some Reese’s Pieces or somethin’.”
