Sacrebleu! Fans of Whitney Houston who were planning on attending her concert in Paris tonight won't get a chance to see the diva live -- at least for now. But judging from the way her recent performances have gone, they might not be missing out on much!
Houston, 46, bailed out on Tuesday evening's show in Paris due to an upper respiratory infection, according to the Associated Press. The official statement, which states that Houston canceled on doctor's orders, says she "deeply regrets having been forced to postpone the show. Her tour will continue in Manchester, England, later this week, but Houston would love to return to the City of Light before the end of the concert series."
While the news may disappoint French fans of the Grammy winner, fans on another continent may call them lucky. Earlier this year, during the Australian leg of Houston's tour to promote 2009's I Look To You album, the singer was slammed by critics and fans for her shaky and "disappointing" performances.
In light of the controversial shows down under (many upset concert-goers reportedly left early or demanded refunds), Houston's publicist said at the time, "Whitney is in great health and having a terrific time on her tour and with her fans."
In the meantime, Parisian ticket holders will have to hold out to see if the singer comes back to town toward the end of her European run.
