Who Is Affected by Colorectal Cancer
Cancer of the colon and rectum is the third most common cancer in men and women in the United States. More than 90% of colorectal cancer cases occur in people who are older than 50.1
Colorectal cancer occurrence rates are highest among African Americans. Rates are slightly lower among whites, and lowest for Asians, Pacific Islanders, American Indians, Alaskan Natives, and Hispanics.1
