Lamar Odom has checked himself into rehab, thank goodness. Following last week's DUI and an alleged drug binge, Khloe Kardashian's husband is reportedly seeking treatment for substance abuse (or not, according to TMZ).
"He realized he needs help," a source told People on Wednesday.
This could be an important turning point for Odom, who allegedly walked out of two separate interventions this month: one staged by the Kardashians, another by his NBA teammates. By all accounts, Khloe has been advocating the hardest for Lamar to get treatment. According to TMZ, she even issued him an ultimatum following his Friday DUI bust: go to rehab or move out. Seems like he chose wisely (though he allegedly didn't inform Khloe of his rehab plans).
Rehab is certainly a step forward for Lamar, but it remains to be seen whether it can save his marriage. The drug revelations (an addiction to cocaine, crack or Oxycontin, allegedly) followed on the heels of reports that Lamar had two affairs. So far, Khloe is standing by him, though she admitted on Twitter that it hasn't been easy.

We can't imagine the pressure on Khloe right now, especially given her unique family obligations. The Kardashian's TV-and-business empire depends on every family member maintaining a certain image. When that perfect image is fractured by life-or-death problems, what happens? HollywoodLife reports that Kris Jenner wants Lamar out of Khloe's life, period. But Khloe is the most strong-willed of all her mother's children, and ultimately, she'll have to decide how to move forward. Whatever happens, we hope Kris Jenner knows better than to spin this into a trite "life lesson" on Keeping Up with the Kardashians. Life can be messy, and nobody will hold it against Khloe if she can't turn this into a perfect happy ending.
