A tribute to the late Michael Jackson is planned for this Sunday's broadcast of the 52nd annual Grammy Awards, and producers are reportedly hoping Jackson's children will participate.
The tribute will feature a 3-D minimovie scored with Jackson's "Earth Song," which was going to be part of Jackson's This is It tour; sources tell E! News that Grammy organizers are doing everything in their power to include Jackson heirs Prince Michael, 12, Paris, 11, and Blanket, 7, in some capacity.
"They've been working on everything from them singing to just making an appearance," a Grammys insider said.
A source close to the Jacksons reportedly said Tuesday night that the children "might" be there. Several members of the Jackson family, including patriarch Joe Jackson are scheduled to attend.
If Michael Jackson's children do appear at the Grammys, it's unlikely that they would pose for the paparazzi outside Los Angeles' Staples Center. "They might go, but Kate [Kathryn Jackson, their grandmother and guardian] is very protective of having them in front of the cameras, so I doubt they will walk the carpet," says the source.
The Grammys will air on Sunday, Jan. 31 on CBS.
