"We make the effort to always put the family first," Smith told People at last week's Men in Black III premiere in New York City. "Being there for each other and being present with our kids is the most important thing. I take being a parent very seriously."
Keeping a marriage healthy and happy has to be a priority, the 43-year-old star explains. The family, he reveals, flew back and forth from the Men in Black III set in New York to their home in Los Angeles every week during the movie shoot to spend time together. The Smiths have two children Jaden, 13, and Willow, 11, in addition to Will's 19-year-old son, Trey, from a previous relationship.
Will and Jada, 40, will celebrate their 15th anniversary this December -- and despite rumors last year that their marriage was on the rocks, Will says they couldn't be on more solid ground.
"What's helped us is being supportive, no matter what the situation is," he says. "I'm so lucky to have someone like Jada. She's really an incredible woman, wife and mother."
And Will knows exactly what makes his wife incredible: "She is just absolutely hardcore, like she absolutely is unfazed by the weight and the pressures of life. She is so calm and cool and easy in any situation. She can bear anything, and I just love that about her."
