Young Adults: Willie Jones
ELIMINATED (First Round)

Hometown: Shreveport, LA

Mentored by: Demi Lovato

About him: At his initial audition,  this 18-year-old musical theater student strode onstage dressed like the Fresh Prince of Bel Air, with hair like Max Headroom and a polite manner like neither of them. Then he opened his mouth, and out came a booming baritone, singing the country music song, "Your Man" by Josh Turner. "I prayed that we would find somebody like you," said Simon Cowell. "I think your voice is a sensational recording voice." During the Boot Camp round, fellow contestant Tate Stevens suggested that he and Jones both sing "Nobody Knows" by Babyface (also sung by Tony Rich and Kevin Sharp). Jones, who wasn't familiar with the song, flubbed the words -- but he made it through to the next round anyway. Happily, Jones nailed the song when he chose to perform it again for his mentor, Lovato.

Why he got cut: Jones put his all into his final performance of "You Don’t Know Me" on Nov. 1, but it wasn't enough to convice Demi to choose him over CeCe Frey.
