Have y'all been following the Emmys charity auction on eBay? In a very cool cross-platform move, the Television Academy Foundation has partnered with eBay Charity Works to auctioning off all kinds of tickets and memorabilia from now through September 3. Proceeds from the sales benefit the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences' educational outreach efforts and its archival program.
Some of the auction items are pretty awesome. You can bid on VIP tickets to the Emmy Awards, The Daily Show, and The Jay Leno Show, or on autographed promo items, scripts, and posters (Grey Gardens signed by Drew Barrymore and Jessica Lange, oooh!) The biggest-ticket items so far are Hugh Laurie's cane from House and a pair of Emmy tickets bundled with a limo ride to the HBO after-party at the Pacific Design Center. Both are tied at $1,225 —and there's still six days left to bid! Of course, if you can't afford that, you can also go for the Bill Engvall Show T-shirt signed by the cast, which is up now for $25.
Ahem. Better get on it, people.
