We’re the first ones to admit it -- getting your kid out of diapers is no small feat. (But is there anything more awesome once it happens?) Here's what we wish someone had told us about the road from changing table to potty.

Potty training is rarely an “event”; instead it's an ongoing process that can take weeks, sometimes months (sorry to be the one to break it to you). Think of it as a marathon, not a sprint. You're going to need patience and lowered expectations, and then, uh, more patience. Your child has been using diapers for years; you can't expect him or her to make a total lifestyle change in a day. And while it can certainly feel like it drags on forever, the old adage is true: Your child won't go to college in Pull-Ups. We promise.
