Each week we pick one woman who's done something to make us proud.
This week we're loving ABC's resident cougar Courteney Cox. Her new hit comedy Cougar Town has been delivering Wednesday night laughs (and top ratings) for six weeks now. We fall more in love with the show with each episode.
So far Courteney's single mom character, Jules, has done her part to erase the negative connotation of the word cougar — at least in our minds. She's not a creepy older woman on the prowl. She's just a 40ish mom looking for a man. And so what if her most recent boyfriend happens to be a few years younger....Have you seen his abs?
Courteney is definitely proving that she can still carry a show, but she hasn't forgotten her Friends. Lisa Kudrow, a.k.a. Phoebe Buffay, will appear in a guest role as Jules' mean dermatologist in November. And Courteney asked her Friends hubby Matthew Perry to play one of Jules' love interests, but he turned her down, worried it might be "a little little too much after Chandler and Monica."
Courteney also says she'd love to get BFF Jennifer Aniston on the show. After all, the duo heated things up on her old show Dirt by sharing an on-screen kiss. But we're thinking Jen probably doesn't need Court's help as much as her other pals. Still, it warms our hearts a little to know that the Friends gang is still close after so many years.
