The World's Largest, Fastest, Steepest Water Slide is Coming To Kansas

And it's every bit as scary as it sounds.

Are you insane?

That's the question Schlitterbahn Kansas City Waterpark is asking their patrons, and coincidentally it's what we'd like to ask the developers of the world's tallest, fastest, steepest waterslide

Holy NO. Nope. Not uh. Not even a little.

The Verruckt, which in case you weren't already terrified translates to "insane" in German, includes the equivalent of a 17-story drop for its riders, and features an uphill climb of more than 50 feet. It's such a crazy slide that new water slide technology had to be created for it. Yes, you read that right, new water slide technology.

With 264 stairs leading to the top of the Verruckt's gigantic tower, riders will have plenty of time to psych themselves up before taking the plunge into "adventure." The ride features a specially designed four-person raft (which means yes, you'll have to find three brave souls to ride with) to guide riders safely to the end of the amusement -- at which point if you're riding with any of us the water is going to be a little, uh, warm.

The attraction is making its debut in 2014, but in the meantime we're totally cool not picturing ourselves screaming down a slide that boasts being both taller than Niagra Falls and the Statue of Liberty. What do you think of the Verruckt? Would you give it a go? Are you a crazy person? Let us know below!
