Red wine has gotten a lot of hype for being the “heart-healthy” vino of choice. But white wine is just as virtuous, says our dietitian, Tina Ruggiero. The Mayo Clinic says there is “no clear evidence” that red wine is any better for your heart than other forms of alcohol. Both deliver antioxidants and can raise HDL (good) cholesterol. So drink what you like, Ruggiero says, but drink in moderation: One 5-ounce glass has 120 calories.
