It's the premise of a great joke: A girl walks into a bar ... and bumps into the president of the United States. Well, that really happened folks. And the girl in question, Madalyn Starkey, a University of Colorado Boulder student, has the hilarious photographic evidence to prove it. In an Instagram shot that has now gone viral, a stunned looking Starkey poses with the smiling, loose-tied POTUS against the backdrop of a graffiti-strewn college bar.
Obama was traveling through Colorado yesterday, and in addition to having yogurt splattered on him and slow jamming the news with Jimmy Fallon, he made a pit stop at the Boulder pub the Sink. The president is making obvious attempts to lock in the youth vote this week and mixing with local students at a bar was another strategic move that likely won him a few more points with the 18- to 29-year-old demographic.
As for Starkey, she appears to be enjoying the attention. "Woooo, never knew a tweet could blow up like that. Neat!" she tweeted today, adding, "Bet you wish you had taken me to prom now, huh?" to another Twitter user.
Or maybe they wish they had gone to the bar with her instead!
