Would You Pay $60 to Figure Out How Smart Your Dog Is?

A new app claims it can figure out how clever your dog is

Your pup is brilliant, clearly, but why not confirm the obvious? A new app promises to tell you not only if Fido is smart, but also just how smart that little nugget is.

Dubbed Dognition, the $60 web-based app “evaluates cognition to provide a complete picture of your dog’s intelligence -- one that include the skills and abilities that help define your furry friend from head to tail.”

Dognition features a bunch of games to test your dog’s cognitive skills in reasoning, memory, empathy, cunning and communication. Based on where your pooch rates in each of these skills, he is assigned one of nine profiles (think: “Renaissance Dog” and “Maverick”) that derive from his problem-solving skills.

Here’s an example of a food-based test your dog can take to learn if she's collaborative or self-reliant:

So, would you shell out $60 to figure out the intelligence of your dog? Or does it even matter? Because I’m pretty sure Fido loves you unconditionally. Does he deserve to be labeled and judged?
