Would You Pay Top Dollar for an Anti-Snoring Bed? Because Soon You Can

The latest smart bed watches, informs and puts an end to your guy's snoring. What will they think of next?

Goodbye, adjustable beds and beds-by-number. Hello, the kind of creepy bed that keeps a watchful eye on you as you sleep.

One of the items featured at this month’s annual International CES (the Consumer Electronics Show that showcases weird doohickies) in Las Vegas is the x12 bed made by Sleep Number. As reported by Mashable, the bed, which hits select markets next month, keeps track of your nightly sleep habits, taking breathing rate, heart rate and movement into account. This information is then whizzed over via Bluetooth to their iOS app, which also contains a journal of out-of-bed activities that may be impacting your slumber (caffeine intake, tv usage). You can then pinpoint exactly how and when you sleep best — and therefore get more of it, at a higher quality.

You can shift your Big Brother bed into your preferred position with a few simple voice-activated commands and, for those of you with a loud sleeping partner, gently raise the pillow of the snorer when he/she starts sounding like a freight train. That means, no more nudging (or elbowing) him/her to flip over. This smart bed does not come without a price — and it’s a hefty one at that. A queen-size bed starts at $7,999. So the question is…would you pay eight grand for a good night's sleep? The tagline for the bed is actually, "Probably the best bed in the world." So...Some tired staffers say, yes!
