Now's your chance to dine at all — literally all — of the world's finest restaurants in one fell swoop. Here's the bad news: The golden ticket to do so will cost you a cool $274,500. But here's the good news: That cost covers not just you, but a companion too! So that makes it totally doable, right? (We wish!)
Here's the deal: Eater reports that a new partnership between the British luxury retail website VeryFirstTo and travel site HolidaysPlease is now offering a travel package that allows guests to visit every three-star Michelin restaurant IN THE ENTIRE WORLD (and we never resort to all caps, so you know we're seriously awed). All that fine dining — there are more than 100 restaurants to cover — takes place over a six-month period of globe trotting.
The cost of the modest getaway is £182,000, which roughly translates to a quarter million U.S. dollars, includes travel in business class (come on, that really should be first class, no?), high-end hotel stays, and the host of the meals along with house wine.
The trip covers 12 countries, and the Telegraph points out that travelers would expect to spend a lot of time in Japan, as Tokyo alone has 15 three-star restaurants. New York and Paris are among the other stops along the way.
We're not exactly in the position to burn through this kind of cool cash on such an indulgence (though if we were, we'd much rather spend it on this than on the $91,500 Hermes T-shirt we once told you about). But it sure does make for one decadent daydream. Sigh.
How about you: Would you spend a quarter million dollars to go to the best restaurants in the world?
