Would You Wear a Cardigan as a Button-Back Top?

We're thinking of new ways to wear this closet staple

Almost everyone I know has a cardigan in their closet. And almost everyone I know wears it the same two ways: buttoned-up or completely unbuttoned (and always with the buttons in the front). And I know this is going to sound totally nuts, but lately I've been wanting to switch up the way I wear this easy basic and put it on... backwards.

I've always thought button-back tops look surprisingly chic, so why shouldn't I switch up the location of the buttons, right? Plus, it gives me one more way to style this wardrobe staple, which means I get more bang for my buck. Score!

I think the key to pulling this off is to make sure the neckline is on the high side. That way when it rests on your back it looks smooth and like it's sitting where it's supposed to (no need to show off your back cleavage with a deep v-neck, right?). You'll also need to make sure you cut out any tags so you'll feel totally comfy all day long.

I know this won't work with every style, but with something like this Crafting All Day Cardigan ($79.99 at Modcloth) I think it could look super-cute.

What do you all think? Am I going crazy?
