Haitian-born hip-hop artist Wyclef Jean has always had strong ties to his homeland. Since its founding in 2005, his charity Yele Haiti has supported education and provided scholarships in the poverty-stricken country. And after the country's devastating earthquake in January 2010, the musician spearheaded the Hope for Haiti Now concert, raising $150 million for earthquake relief. “We need action now to replace the infrastructure, get Haitians employed and renew the agriculture. It's going to take years, and there's no time to lose,” said Wyclef, who lost 15 family members in the tragedy.
