Wynonna Judd's Husband Has Leg Amputated After Motorcycle Crash

Musician Cactus Moser sustained several injuries from his motorcycle collision, and doctors were not able to save his leg

Wynonna Judd's husband Cactus Moser's injuries were more severe than previously reported. Moser's head-on motorcycle collision on Aug. 18 required doctors to amputate his leg.

The country star's rep told Us Weekly that Moser's leg was "severed at the scene of the accident," and surgeons at the Rapid City, S.D., hospital where he was airlifted amputated the limb above the drummer's knee.

"He has also undergone surgery to his hand," the rep added. "Judd and Moser appreciate all of the quick medical and police responders as well as the hospital staff and well-wishes from family, friends and fans."

The newlyweds were enjoying a motorcyle ride (on their own bikes) before a scheduled performance on Saturday, but the outing took a devastating turn when Moser, 55, reportedly crossed the South Dakota highway's divider and crashed with an oncoming car.

Judd, 48, and Moser were married in June. The singer, who canceled her upcoming performances in order to stay with her husband, has expressed her gratitude to supportive fans.

"The outpouring of prayer and support from friends, family and fans has been a blessing to both Cactus and I. Cactus is a champion," Judd told Us in a statement over the weekend. "I love him deeply and I will not leave his side."
