About him: Stevens spends his days laying asphalt as a member of a city street crew, but the 37-year-old family man also possesses an effortless, authentic country baritone. When he sang "Anything Goes" by Randy Houser at his audition, his voice so impressed Britney Spears that she said, "You're my favorite so far." Though Reid later admitted concern about Stevens' lack of confidence, he nonetheless named him as one of his final four.
Why he won: "You're so likable, you're so funny, and then you blew me away with your voice," said Demi Lovato after hearing Stevens sing during the beginning of the competition. Reid, who mentored Stevens, explained to USA Today why his guy won it all: "First of all, he presented himself well and he sings really well. But (he's) also a real lovable human being. It was the whole him supporting the family, the family supporting him. It was like the American Dream." Congrats, Tate!
