Green hair (of the unintentional variety), most obvious on blondes, is caused by substances such as nickel and chlorine that are found in swimming pools and in hard and well water. There are shampoos available that remove trace minerals, but if they don't do the trick, a colorist can apply a low-level bleach to your hair for about five minutes to remove the unwanted color.
