You have to bring your child to work.

That's a tough one -- and how you handle it depends on your child's age and your office circumstances. If she's younger, you must explain beforehand that you won't be able to focus on her during the day. Pack up a "fun bag" full of the quiet toys, the books and games that you know she'll enjoy and can do with little supervision. If you're the boss in your workplace (or if your boss permits), and your child is mature enough, you can give her some simple office tasks. Some kids love answering phones or operating the copy machine. Their help can sometimes turn a tough situation into a good one.
