You'll Never Guess the Baby Name Whose Popularity Rocketed 450 Percent This Year!

We're as baffled as we are hungry after hearing the news

File this one under “now we’ve heard everything:” Parents are naming their babies Cheese at a rapidly growing rate. Yes, that’s right, the popularity of the out-there baby name skyrocketed 450 percent in 2013, according to a BabyCenter survey of 500,000 parents cited by New York.

Granted, the survey revealed that only nine babies were given that name this year. But, as New York points out, when you consider that four million babies are born in America annually overall, the real number of babies named Cheese across the whole population might be about 72 this year.

We’re still trying to get our minds around this pretty baffling news. Meanwhile, we’re thinking Gwyneth Paltrow’s daughter Apple and some little boy named Cheese would make a delicious couple some day.

And if that joke sounded cheesy to you, remember we’re just trying to stay on top of the trends!
