Ever think you'd spend your next trip in another country getting eye surgery, a facelift or a tummy tuck? A trend called medical tourism is causing an increasing number of people to seek medical therapies and surgeries outside of their home country.
What's the attraction? The cost of airfare, hotel and surgery including hospitalization can be significantly lower than the current cost of just care here in the US. If it's a less serious elective surgery, then there's also the option to tack on some additional time to tour the country where you're having treatment— and still save some bucks.
