You don't need to wish Zac Efron a happy new year. He's already had one! In the new romantic comedy New Year's Eve, the former High School Musical star gets to lock lips with a beautiful older woman: Michelle Pfeiffer, 53. And needless to say, the 24-year-old actor didn't mind.
"I'll just say I am very happy," the actor told E! News at the film's premiere. "It was a lot of takes."
In the star-studded ensemble film, Efron plays a scooter-driving courier who helps a put-upon secretary (Pfeiffer) check off items on her bucket list. (Presumably, one of those is "kiss a hot young scooter-driving courier.")
And if that wasn't enough to redefine his Disney image, Efron will play the love interest of another older woman, 44-year-old Nicole Kidman, in the upcoming erotic thriller The Paperboy. The actor wouldn't reveal the plot on the red carpet, but hinted that things may get R-rated between him and Kidman.
"We get to really have some fun," quipped Efron.
Zac might have become a cougar magnet, but he's still the crush object of many younger women -- including 15-year-old Abigail Breslin. Though the young actress appears in New Year's Eve, she didn't share any scenes with Efron, and admits she got got totally star-struck when they were finally introduced!
"I met Zac Efron yesterday, and I'm just going to say, I cried a little bit afterwards and beforehand -- just a little bit," Breslin told CNN on Sunday. "It was kind of a big deal; it was kind of major."
As for Efron, he says he had "no idea" that Breslin was so nervous at their first meeting. Aww -- isn't it cute how clueless boys can be?
