Zachary Quinto isn't single any more. The handsome Star Trek star, who publicly came out to last October, confirmed he's dating a fellow actor. The lucky man is hunky stage-and-screen star Jonathan Groff, best known for playing the recurring character Jesse St. James on Glee.
"I'm incredibly happy, I'm incredibly lucky," Quinto, 35, told Out magazine about his romance with Groff, 27.
The duo had been spotted together several times, but no one had officially confirmed their relationship until Quinto's interview in the new article in Out.
Although Quinto didn't get into details about his romantic relationship with Groff, he did admit it took time and maturity to find that kind of partnership, because he used to be stuck in an unhealthy "pattern of being attracted to people who were somehow unavailable," he said.
"[A]nd what I realized was that I was protecting myself because I equated the idea of connection and love with trauma and death," he added.
Quinto also explained why it was freeing to open up about being gay.
"One of the defining conversations that I had with myself was that absolutely no good can come from me staying quiet about [my sexuality]," he told Out. "Literally, no good can come from it. But if I take the step to make the acknowledgment and be honest, so much good could potentially come from it."
